We're the only law firm in Australia with a dedicated in-house team offering a service of this kind. If you have emotional or practical concerns while you're our client, you can access free assistance from our social workers via referral from your legal team. Our team is highly experienced and can assist you with a wide range of issues that may be affecting you.

We can provide short term assistance such as:
- Crisis and short term counselling and support
- Help to locate and access local or specialised services
- Referral to community agencies regarding financial, accommodation, support and care issues.
- Negotiation and advocacy with services on your behalf
- Provision of community service information and resources
- Advice and assistance regarding benefits and applications with community agencies, such as Centrelink and housing.
How to access our services
If you would like to speak to a Slater and Gordon social worker, please ask your lawyer to make a referral to our service. A social worker will then call you directly.
Over 3000 clients and counting
Since our service was established in 2009, we've had over 3000 clients referred to us for assistance. Our team of 4 social workers are highly experienced with more than 90 years of experience between them, working in health and welfare settings with a broad range of clients, often with complex issues. If you need help, you can be confident that we'll do everything we can to assist in your time of need.

As our Social Work Service is primarily phone-based, we can assist you wherever you are in Australia. Whoever you speak to from our team, it'll be a social worker with experience and expertise to assist you the best way that they can.
