Catherine has practiced as a Social Worker for more than 15 years. She has a deep understanding of the complex psycho-social issues faced by individuals and their families during recovery from illness and injury and the importance of practical and emotional support. Catherine has extensive experience in providing social work services as part of inter-disciplinary teams working in clinical areas such as cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, general medicine and intensive care.
After completing her degree in Social Work, Catherine worked for more than six years in hospital and community rehabilitation services around Melbourne. Through this experience, she developed strong advocacy skills and a commitment to empowering clients to access services that meet their goals.
Catherine moved to the United Kingdom in 2011, where she worked as a social worker in rehabilitation and aged care for seven years, both in London and in rural areas. In particular, Catherine supported individuals and their families who were experiencing grief and loss arising from profound neurological injuries.
In 2023, Catherine received a Masters degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is dedicated to providing person-centred, short-term and solution-focused counselling support to clients. Outside of Slater + Gordon, Catherine works as a volunteer counsellor, providing trauma-informed care to victims of family violence.
