Julie Tran

I am a Lawyer at Slater & Gordon practising exclusively in Medical Law.

Prior to qualifying as a lawyer, I worked as a legal assistant for four years. I initially did general personal injury work which involved claims under the WorkCover and TAC schemes. As a result, I have developed a particular interest for medical negligence claims that “crossover” with workplace or motor vehicle accidents.

In 2022 I worked in the Medical Law team at another Plaintiff law firm. This is where I discovered my love for this area of law and saw firsthand the impact that our work has on everyday Australians.

I take a detailed-oriented and thorough approach to the work I do. I value honesty, transparency, clarity, and empathy.

Throughout my career I have had the privilege of working directly under some of the industry’s most well-regarded medical negligence lawyers. I have worked on complex catastrophic claims such as birth injury claims and have helped obtain multi-million-dollar settlements. This experience has shaped the lawyer I am today and informed the approach I take in my own practice.

We are fortunate to live in a country with a great medical system. Sometimes however, mistakes occur. Our legal system provides an avenue for patients to seek accountability and compensation however navigating this system is not always easy. I do everything I can to simplify complex legal and medical issues, and ensure the process is clear.
