I am a Senior Associate here at Slater and Gordon. I have worked for several years in medical negligence and what I love most about my job is helping my clients to access compensation to improve their quality of life following an injury.
We are fortunate to have a good healthcare system here in Australia. However, sometimes, the medical care you receive falls below the reasonable standard of care you are entitled to expect. If that medical care causes you an injury, I can help you to access the compensation you are entitled to. I am passionate about standing up for my clients and have significant experience with cases concerning catastrophic injuries, birth injuries, death claims, surgical errors, misdiagnoses and coronial inquests.
I worked in medical negligence and coronial inquests for four years at the start of my legal career. Notably, I acted in the coronial inquest on behalf of the families of the six people who lost their lives in the Bourke Street attack in January 2017.
Soon after, I moved to the UK and sought out legal positions that would widen my personal injuries experience. I worked as a lawyer on a royal commission that examined why tens of thousands of people in the UK were given infected blood and/or infected blood products. I then worked for the UK Government Legal Department in personal injury litigation and gained useful insights into the drivers for insurers on the other sides of our claims. After a few years, I moved back to Melbourne and found a home in the Medical Law team at Slater and Gordon surrounded by other passionate and hardworking medical negligence lawyers.
Last year, I achieved certification as an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law.
I am born and raised in Melbourne. My Dad is from the Wimmera district and my Mum is from the Upper Murray. I spend a lot of my time in country Victoria and love the outdoors.
