Tim is the Senior Practice Leader for industrial and employment Law in NSW and Queensland.

He came to Slater & Gordon after more than a decade in private practice as a Partner at a firm in Sydney, representing workers, unions, and other organisations. Before private practice, Tim spent more than ten years working as a lawyer for unions, including the Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union , the Electrical Trades Union, and UNISON in the UK.

This has given Tim a breadth of knowledge in all elements of employment and industrial law, and in representing union members and private clients in matters against employers and government regulators. He is equally experienced in resolving matters without going to court, as well an engaging in extensive litigation. He has broad experience in representing people in discrimination and sexual harassment matters in a variety of disputes and jurisdictions.

He has appeared in courts and tribunals in all Australian States and Territories, from local courts to the High Court, as well as Commissions of Inquiry and a Royal Commission. Tim has extensive experience in civil penalty litigation involving regulators like the Australian Building and Construction Commission and the Fair Work Ombudsman.

Tim has extensive experience in providing advice and representation in union regulation and Rules matters, as well as bargaining, industrial action and general protections.
