As a Military Lawyer with Slater and Gordon, daily I support Australian Defence Force veterans with their legal matters. Like an RSL Advocate, ESO or DVA Advocate, I provide legal advice to veterans across Australia in their dealings with the Department of Veteran Affairs. This includes Darwin, Townsville, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and beyond.
From a young age I developed an interest in helping those who could not help themselves. Standing up for the legal rights of my clients has always been my passion. I feel fortunate to now be able to work with veterans whose lives have been altered due to the rigours of their service.
Since 2007 I have been assisting Australian veterans with their legal cases, first as a law clerk and now as a lawyer. Improving the lives of my clients by helping them understand their legal rights and how to access their entitlements, gives me great personal satisfaction. My goal is to make the complex simple, so my clients can focus on their wellbeing.
I have a close friend who is a long serving member of the Australian military who deployed several times to Afghanistan. Knowing their experience, combined with my many years of working with veterans, has given me an appreciation of the sacrifices our service men and women make to serve their country.
When I work with you, I take the time to understand your story and your unique circumstances. My goal is to help you navigate the often complex and challenging DVA processes to find the most effective path to the outcome you are seeking.
I also enjoy supporting my local community. I have previously volunteered as an office bearer at our local primary school amateur swimming club. One of my main achievements at the club was a successful Round 1 application to the Gaming Commission to secure funding to pay for the installation of solar heating, to enable the children to train in warmer water at the beginning and end of the swimming season.
