The New South Wales government has announced that it expects construction to commence on the Parramatta Light Rail line in 2019.
The preferred network for the Parramatta Light Rail line will connect Westmead Hospital, Parramatta North, Parramatta CBD and Camellia, and will also extend to Olympic Park, Strathfield, Carlingford and Telopea.
It is expected that the project will involve the compulsory acquisition of a significant number of properties along the preferred network.
Communications with stakeholders will begin in early 2016, and the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement and other approval documents including community engagement will commence in late 2016.
