The Queensland government launched the Bruce Highway Upgrade Project on 1 July 2013, to transform the 1,673 kilometre highway route in Queensland’s major north-south corridor. This includes 43 major projects aimed at enhancing safety and addressing capacity constraints.

The Queensland Government, in partnership with the Australian Government, has dedicated over $13 billion to deliver the project. Recently, the Australian Government has committed over $5 billion to the Bruce Highway between 2022-2023 to 2031-2032, to deliver priority upgrades along the route.

Under the project, both residential and commercial properties, and many of the affected properties will need to be compulsorily acquired. The Queensland Government has already approached numerous landowners to resume interests in affected properties.

If your property is resumed for the project, you will be entitled to compensation. It is critical that you seek independent, expert, legal advice about your entitlement to compensation. Our team is currently acting for hundreds of property and business owners across Australia, assisting them with their claims for compensation where their property or business has been compulsorily acquired.

We have already assisted hundreds of people who have had their family homes, business premises or investment properties compulsorily acquired by major projects such as the Wynnum Road upgrade, Gold Coast Light Rail, the Pacific Highway upgrade and the widening of Gympie Road for the Department of Transport’s Busways Program.
