Our Hourly Rates

Slater and Gordon’s fees are GST inclusive and made up of two parts: professional fees and an uplift success fee. The uplift success fee is warranted when we work No Win No Fee because we take on the risk of working on your claim without being paid for an extended period of time.

Our professional fees are the cost of all the work we do on your claim, calculated on time spent. The amount of time we work on your claim will depend on the complexity of your claim and the hourly rate will depend on the experience of the person doing the work.

Our time based charging is calculated in 6 minute units. For example, talking to you on the phone for up to 6 minutes will be charged as 6 minutes. Talking to you on the phone for between 6 minutes and 12 minutes will be charged at 12 minutes. Our hourly rates are reviewed annually. If we change our hourly rates we’ll let you know.

In addition to our professional fees, our fees also include an uplift success fee to compensate us for taking the risk of working on a No Win No Fee basis. The uplift success fee is calculated as 25% of our professional fees. The uplift success fee becomes payable only if you win your claim.

If your claim does not succeed, you don’t pay our professional fees or the uplift success fee.
