Slater and Gordon Lawyers is investigating legal options for dozens of property- and business-owners who have suffered losses or harm as a result of alleged failures by Brimbank City Council and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) to alert them to the fact that their properties are located on a contaminated former landfill site in St Albans.

Media reports have identified that Brimbank City Council and the EPA have been aware for many years of the potential risks posed by the former Sunshine Landfills site, yet no action was ever taken to inform property-owners and residents of the nature of the land that unaware purchasers were acquiring.

If their properties’ values have been diminished as a result of any negligence or other failures on the part of the Council or the EPA, owners may have rights to seek compensation.

If you believe you have suffered losses or harm, or if your property or business has been affected in some way because of the former Sunshine Landfills site, register your details using the form below to speak to a member of Slater and Gordon’s legal team about your rights, and to be kept informed as this investigation develops.
