Slater and Gordon is investigating a potential class action against gynaecologist, Dr Emil Gayed. The investigation will also look at the conduct of the hospitals he worked within and the regulator, the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Dr Emil Gayed was found guilty of professional misconduct by the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal on 6 June 2018, following the mismanagement of seven patients spanning over three years at the Manning Base Hospital in Taree, NSW.

Since this finding, dozens of women have come forward with complaints about the doctor. A large scale, independent review by the NSW Department of Health is underway and will examine the surgeon's conduct over more than two decades.

We urge any person who is concerned about treatment they received from Dr Gayed to contact us as we continue to investigate.
