Cathy Collins

Cathy from the Slater and Gordon Dubbo office is recognised by her colleagues for her outstanding record as a conveyancing paralegal and most of all for her collaboration with others.

This seems all the more remarkable considering she is the only staff member at the firm in Dubbo and the surrounding areas who practises conveyancing.

Cathy has deep roots in the area. She grew up in the nearby town of Nyngan before relocating to Dubbo where she has lived for the past 20 years. Three years ago she joined Slater and Gordon with the merger of Adams Leyland, and in total she has worked in conveyancing for the past six years.

The property market in Dubbo and surrounding areas has been strong, says Cathy. The opening of mines in the area has bought new workers and families as well as investors who are looking to buy residential properties and build large subdivision complexes.

At any chance she gets, Cathy enjoys promoting the firm’s conveyancing service to the local community as well as fellow colleagues at the firm. She is always on the phone to staff in the surrounding Slater and Gordon offices such as Tamworth and Broken Hill. She is not one to ever let distance be an obstacle.

It was around the turn of the 20th century and Bill was standing in a Melbourne court after the police had caught him and some of his mates skinny-dipping in the Yarra River on a hot summer’s day. After being marched from the...
