I got into law because I have always had a strong desire to use my skills to help improve the lives of others. When I began practicing I was working in the defendant insurance litigation space. This gave me a strong insight into the practice of defendants in litigated claims and has helped me to understand the practice of law from both sides of the fence. I was given the opportunity to shift my focus and have been working with survivors of abuse since 2018.
I work in Slater and Gordon’s Abuse Law team. I have been trusted with the stories of many survivors who have been through significant trauma. There is no amount of money that can truly make up for the experiences many survivors of abuse have lived through, however, I have seen how compensation, recognition and apologies can help survivors to address the past and to improve their lives moving forward.
I believe righting wrongs is an imperative. Welfare, justice and dignity should be afforded to all people, regardless of their background or circumstances. As your lawyer I will listen and take the time to understand your stories and the experiences you have been through. I will explain and help you understand your rights and legal options and guide you through every step of the claims / legal process with confidence and sensitivity.
