Jessica is a Senior Associate in the Class Actions team at Slater and Gordon.
After some time as paralegal in NAB’s Legal team, Jessica began working in private practice where she gained valuable experience in property and commercial law. Jessica subsequently moved to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) to work as an enforcement lawyer on investigations and litigation arising out of breaches of financial services laws.
In 2018, Jessica was seconded to the Australian Government Solicitor, the solicitors assisting the Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry. Taking on the big end of town and working closely with the Counsel Assisting was a career defining experience and has led to her finding her niche area of practice focused on consumer protection in financial services.
Given her background, Jessica’s work has been focused on the firm’s class actions against financial services entities including the NAB Consumer Credit Insurance Class Action and “Get Your Super Back” class actions against superannuation fund trustees including Colonial First State Investments Limited and BT Funds Management Limited.
Jessica has an empathetic and outcome-focussed approach to her work and is driven to achieve the best possible results for the group members Slater and Gordon represents.
