Melbourne Associate Kaitlin Ferris predominately practises in the area of commercial class actions, and has worked on complex litigation on behalf of thousands of shareholders including proceedings against Newcrest Mining Ltd (settled in 2016 for $36 million) and Billabong International Ltd (settled in 2016 for $45 million). Kaitlin commenced work with Slater and Gordon as a Paralegal in 2012, and is now an Associate in the Project Litigation team.

Kaitlin also has experience investigating and commencing shareholder class action litigation, most recently in relation to the proposed proceeding against Spotless Group Holdings Ltd and the proceeding issued against Bellamy’s Australia Ltd.

Passionate about ensuring access to justice, Kaitlin has represented clients on a pro bono basis, and has advised clients on a No Win No Fee basis in relation to general commercial matters. Kaitlin also coordinates Slater and Gordon’s involvement in the Commercial Bar Association of Victoria’s Equitable Briefing Initiative, which aims to increase the number of female barristers briefed in commercial litigation.
