Fighting and winning for people who can’t fight for themselves is one of the driving forces of Claire Setches’ approach to practice in occupational dust disease Claims litigation. It’s a task she tackles head on, with a keen awareness of the trust and faith her clients have invested in her.
Claire represents people of all ages and backgrounds, all of whom share the unfortunate experience of having been affected by an occupational dust related illness and many of whom will have limited life expectancies. Making sure that they have confidence in the compensation process, that they feel cared for and satisfied with the results is what matters most.
Relaxed, sensitive and down to earth, Claire is passionate about the rewards of working in an area of law which allows her to make a difference to the lives of ordinary people in difficult times and provide them with a sense of justice.
As she says: “No other area of law highlights so clearly the difference between good and bad and the need to stand up for those who are unable to protect themselves.”
Claire graduated from Monash University in 1997 and joined Slater and Gordon in 2001.
