Our Union Services Team
Slater and Gordon’s Union Services team brings together over 30 years of combined experience helping union members and their families.
Mick Sayers joined Slater and Gordon as a lawyer in early 1997 and is an Associate of the firm. He took over Slater and Gordon's Employment Law practice in 2004 and, more recently, took on responsibility for Union Services.
Mick works closely with the Executive at a number of the unions represented by the firm to ensure that the best possible services are delivered to these unions and their members. As an employment lawyer he assists union members in a variety of employment law disputes including unfair dismissal, equal opportunity and breach of contract claims.

Lindsay Jones commenced working with Slater and Gordon in 2003, joining our Industrial and Employment Law team. Since that time, Lindsay has worked in various roles within the firm, including most recently as Workers’ Compensation support team leader at our Geelong office and then in a Victorian Operations role. Between 2008 and 2013, Lindsay worked as an industrial officer at the CFMEU (Construction and General Division), initially on secondment and then directly before returning permanently to Slater and Gordon.
Lindsay’s breadth of both ‘hands on’ industrial experience as well as personal injury practice particularly Workers’ Compensation means she has a unique skill set in responding to the needs of Unions, their members and injured workers. Lindsay combines both her passion for workers’ rights and social justice with her broad, practical experience to facilitate optimal outcomes for union members who seek advice and advocacy for their legal matters.
