National law firm Slater and Gordon has welcomed Michael Andersen back to the Gold Coast as he heads up the firm’s growing Robina office.
A welcome addition to the busy office, Michael brings with him extensive experience in personal injury law including motor vehicle accidents, public liability and workers’ compensation.
Growing up locally, Michael graduated from The Southport School and commenced his law degree at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus before working as a lawyer in Brisbane and Townsville, returning to the Gold Coast with his wife this year.
Outside of law, Michael has had a stellar sporting career - wrestling at the Australian Institute of Sport in 1996, narrowly missing World Teenage Bench Press Records in 1998 and competing at the World Junior Powerlifting Championships in Bulgaria in 2001.
Michael said he is happy to be back at home on the coast and feels his local knowledge is an asset to the firm.
“I’m really looking forward to growing Slater and Gordon’s Robina office and servicing the legal needs of everyday people, particularly on the coast,” Mr Andersen said.
“I see my role as protecting the interests of people who are often facing time of uncertainty, worried about what the future may hold.
“Our team’s role is diverse, from helping to get clients rehabilitation and re-skilling, to being supportive and answering any questions to ensure they are properly and fairly compensated at final settlement.
“I understand that with this process you have 'one-shot-at-it' so I take it upon myself to make sure everything is carefully considered and thorough.
“Sport taught me discipline, the importance of being well prepared and how to perform under pressure,” he said.
Queensland practice group leader, Luke Short, said Michael’s move back to the Gold Coast is a clear sign of the firm’s commitment to the coast.
“Slater and Gordon is a respected national law firm and has more regional offices than anyone else in Australia,” Mr Short said.
“Michael has the experience and local knowledge needed to grow our firm in areas like the Gold Coast,” he said.
Slater and Gordon has been servicing the legal needs of Gold Coast residents since 2008. The office is located at The Rocket in Robina.
