A local lawyer has been recognised by the Victorian legal community at a ceremony in Melbourne today when he was presented with an Accredited Specialists Achievement Award by the Legal Institute of Victoria (LIV).
Craig Lynch, an Accredited Specialist in personal injury, works across Slater and Gordon’s Werribee, Sunshine and Keilor practices. His award was in recognition of his commitment to the Specialist Accreditation Scheme and his contribution to LIV through his membership of the Personal Injury Law Advisory Committee and the Specialisation Board.
Mr Lynch said the award was a tremendous honour that he was proud to receive.
“I am humbled to have been recognised by my friends and colleagues,” Mr Lynch said.
“I consider myself fortunate to come to work each day and help people get through the consequences of a serious injury.
“When you do this work for a living, you get a daily reminder that bad luck strikes people from all walks of life.
“That’s all the motivation you need to do your job well - but this award is a very welcome surprise,” Mr Lynch said.
Mr Lynch said that his award was earned in part by his colleagues from the Werribee, Sunshine, and Keilor offices.
“We are very much a close knit team in the western suburbs. This is as much an award for all Slater and Gordon staff as it is for one individual lawyer,” Mr Lynch said.
Mr Lynch, a Slater and Gordon lawyer for nearly 15 years, said that LIV Accredited Specialists were an integral part of Victoria’s legal system.
“People who seek legal advice for the first time often do so at a time of great personal adversity, such as in the months after a serious car accident or workplace injury.
“The Legal Institute of Victoria does these people a great service by offering independent accreditation. It is an excellent way to find lawyers who are experienced and skilled in their particular area of legal practice.”
