Law firm Slater and Gordon has today announced it has officially joined forces with specialist regional Queensland law firm Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers.

Slater and Gordon CEO Australia Ken Fowlie said the firm had acquired STO Lawyers after a comprehensive due diligence process.

“Our firms have a shared commitment towards maintaining a high level of professionalism while providing the best legal care for our clients,” he said.

“By joining forces, more Queenslanders around the state will have easier access to legal advice through our increased team of experienced lawyers.

“This partnership will strengthen and cement Slater and Gordon’s already strong reputation as Australia’s leading law firm serving everyday people.”

STO Lawyers Partner Travis Schultz said the firm admires Slater and Gordon for their sophistication, forward thinking and diversified operations in a changing legal environment.

“When you couple business skills with similar values, the proposition was attractive,” he said.

“We are confident that our existing client focus and ethos of community service will only be enhanced by this transaction. From a personal point of view, an exciting part of joining Slater and Gordon is being able to enjoy an entirely new chapter in a professional life.

“The marriage with Slater and Gordon will mean that our legal services can be delivered on a more efficient platform that comes with a firm of Slater and Gordon’s size and breadth, while maintaining the same level of professionalism, expertise and service with our clients.”

The firm will continue to practice as STO Lawyers, a Slater and Gordon company.
