National law firm Slater and Gordon has reopened a visiting service in Cairns this week, making it easier for residents in the Far North Queensland city and surrounding district to access the law firm’s broad range of legal services.
The law firm will share offices with Queensland’s largest conveyancing specialist, Conveyancing Works Solicitors, who have been established in the Cairns region for two years, after Slater and Gordon acquired the company late last year.
The visiting office will be serviced by local Townsville lawyers, who will commute to the Cairns office regularly to meet with new and existing clients.
Announcing the opening, Slater and Gordon Practice Group Leader Luke Short, said the visiting service will make it easier for families to access one of Australia’s most respected law firms.
“Slater and Gordon has worked for more than 77 years to achieve outcomes for everyday people. I’m really pleased that we’re able to offer the resources of a national law firm to Cairns and Far North Queensland,” Mr Short said.
“The opening of this visiting service signals the growing commitment Slater and Gordon has to the north.
“Our law firm is continuing to grow in Queensland, and people in Cairns can look forward to having easier access to our affordable, expert legal advice,” he said.
Townsville Practice Group Leader, Brian Edmond, will visit the Cairns office regularly, as will compensation lawyer Michael Andersen. Mr Edmond considers the expansion to be an important investment in Far North Queensland.
“This visiting service gives locals access to one of Australia’s best recognised firms,” Mr Edmond said.
“And a joint office with Conveyancing Works means residents also have access to affordable, expert advice when it comes to buying or selling property,” he said.
The Slater and Gordon visiting service is located in the Conveyancing Works office at 1/254 Mulgrave Road, Westcourt.
