Slater and Gordon Lawyers has confirmed its commitment to the western suburbs of Melbourne by establishing a strong presence of lawyers in Keilor, Footscray, Sunshine, and an office soon to be opened in Werribee.
The firm is pushing the boundaries beyond what a single office can normally offer. The lawyers in Keilor, Footscray, Sunshine and Werribee are mobile, depending on the individual needs of clients in the region. That means anyone who requires legal assistance in the western suburbs of Melbourne can now attend their local Slater and Gordon office and get help from a lawyer who specialises in personal injuries, family law, wills and estate litigation or commercial law.
Slater and Gordon Victorian General Manager Cath Evans said creating such a network was the firm’s response to the changing needs of its clients.
“It’s a very exciting time for the firm, and for the region of western Melbourne,” she said.
“The new office in Werribee will fill a vital gap for Slater and Gordon clients in the region. We have committed many of our most experienced lawyers to the region, with decades of combined specialist legal knowledge.”
Ms Evans also said not only was the firm aiming to be of more assistance to its clients in terms of location, but also in terms of multicultural and multilingual access.
“We have also realised the importance of provision of services to people with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. To assist our clients, we have a full-time Vietnamese interpreter on staff in our Footscray office, and other languages are available through our Multicultural Help Line,” she said.
“We are also very proud to recruit Sudanese refugee and first-year lawyer Kot Monoah to our Sunshine office.”
Western Melbourne resident Patricia Taggart will be managing the new Werribee site. Ms Taggart has been working with Slater and Gordon for 22 years.
“To be able to offer a talented person like Patricia a role in her local community is a real coup,” Ms Evans said.
Slater and Gordon’s new Werribee office is expected to open early January 2011 at Shop 5, 1st Floor, 90A Watton St, Werribee.
