Law firm Slater and Gordon will begin the national roll-out of a successful Queensland-based conveyancing platform this month, delivering benefits to home buyers and property investors across Australia.
The national roll-out comes as Slater and Gordon introduces Conveyancing as a national practice group within the firm, following the acquisition of Conveyancing Works Solicitors. The roll-out is part of a long-term strategy of expanding the range of legal services offered to everyday Australians.
Announcing the nation-wide platform, National Conveyancing Manager Lee Bailie, said the business model and streamlined processes would enable the firm to complete high volumes of transactions for clients efficiently.
“Our electronic file management system and centralised support services will help us to grow nationally and support Australians in their goal of owning their own home or property,” Mr Bailie said.
“These streamlined systems mean that staff actively managing files will spend less time on specialised routine administrative processes, providing more time to work with clients, with a focus on our commitment to high service standards and affordable conveyancing services.
“With conveyancing legal services comprising in excess of 400,000 property transactions in 2011, a national conveyancing platform will ensure Slater and Gordon can become a leading player in a highly fragmented market.
Mr Bailie said that conveyancing services were seen as a key legal need to a lot of mum and dad and property investors, which complemented the suite of existing personal injury and private client services offered by Slater and Gordon.
“This presents an opportunity for conveyancing clients to access the national resources of a law firm that specialises in getting the best outcomes for everyday Australians.
“Following the investment in Conveyancing Works, the practice area has committed to significant growth in conveyancing operations for the next three years, which should provide employment opportunities for staff in the industry,” Mr Bailie said.
In 2011 Slater and Gordon acquired Conveyancing Works Queensland. Since the acquisition, the firm has been working on the roll-out of Conveyancing Works’ highly successful legal services model. The new practice groups will operate in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia under Slater and Gordon's Conveyancing Works.
