Slater and Gordon is opening a new home in Warrnambool next week (June 14), making it easier for residents in the Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland and Colac areas to access the law firm’s broad range of legal services.
Slater and Gordon has been operating a visiting service in Warrnambool for more than 18 months, but the law firm is now opening a permanent office to meet demand.
Slater and Gordon lawyer Cameron Tout, who specialises in personal injury cases, will oversee the new office at 197 Koroit Street, Warrnambool.
“The name Slater and Gordon comes with a commitment to fight for the best outcome and that is what I will be doing for local residents on the south-west coast,” Mr Tout said.
“My family has a connection to this area and I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the local community and developing stronger relationships with local organisations and groups.”
“In particular, I will be looking to build on our work with local unions and their members to assist those who are injured at work or in need of our other legal services.”
Mr Tout, who has worked at Slater and Gordon for three years, said the office would continue to offer a range of legal services including the specialised areas of motor vehicle and workers compensation claims.
“Negotiating our legal systems and the law can be extremely complex and that is where I can help to make sure that people get the best compensation and support available,” he said.
“I’m proud to be able to represent people who find themselves in tough situations, often through no fault of their own.”
Slater and Gordon State Manager Cath Evans said the move signalled a growing commitment to south-west coast.
“For more than 75 years we’ve built up a powerful reputation representing everyday Australians and we’re pleased to be bringing the resources of our firm permanently to Warrnambool through a local lawyer and new office,” Ms Evans said.
“Our law firm is continuing to grow in Victoria and people on the south-west coast can look forward to having easier access to our affordable, expert legal advice.”
