Slater and Gordon staff, family and friends from towns and cities across Australia will put on their running shoes on Sunday May 12 to participate in the annual Mother’s Day Classic to raise funds for breast cancer research.

From Mackay to Melbourne and Penrith to Perth, nearly 350 Slater and Gordon participants will take part in the annual event which is currently in its 16th year.

Janine Gregory, senior lawyer at Slater and Gordon and a proud mother of two, said that as well as supporting staff to take part on the day, the firm would also participate as a national gold sponsor for the fifth year.

“We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and it’s important we do all we can to raise funds for vital breast cancer research,” Ms Gregory said.

“Since it began in 1998, the Mother’s Day Classic has raised nearly $15 million for research programs for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Our staff enjoy being active participants in their local communities and supporting events such as this.”

Ms Gregory said this is just one of many events the firm support during the year. She said lawyers and other staff from the firm donated their time through a range of community and pro bono work.

“We work for a law firm which fights for the best outcomes for everyday people, and want to support everyday people in our community."

Ms Gregory said with staff participating all over the country, she hoped that the firm could reclaim the award for the top Corporate Team in Melbourne and Sydney.

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, 12 May at locations across Australia including capital cities and regional locations.
