Elite BMX racer Lauren Reynolds has been selected to the Australian Team for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and her major sponsor, Slater and Gordon has congratulated her on this exciting achievement.
Slater and Gordon senior executive Hayden Stephens said the firm had made a two year funding commitment to support Lauren during the Games’ qualifying period and looked forward to seeing her success on the world stage.
“Slater and Gordon has been Lauren’s major sponsor for the past 18 months, so we’ve had the opportunity to watch her progress in the lead up to the world’s most important sporting event,” he said.
“She has now been named as a member of the Australian Olympic Team, so her bid to qualify for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio has finally been realised.
“From early beginnings at the Bunbury BMX Club in Western Australia at eight years old Lauren has since competed in the 2012 London Games – one of just five Australian BMX riders – and it’s a pleasure to be her partner on the road to Rio in 2016.
“We encourage everyone to get behind Lauren in her BMX racing efforts for one of the most thrilling Olympic sports around.”
Lauren said she welcomed the support from Slater and Gordon and would stop at nothing to succeed in a sport she is so passionate about.
“I'm so excited to represent Australia twice at the Olympics – once in 2012 and now again in 2016. It’s such an honour to be part of the Australian Olympic team,” she said.
“Sponsorship from a well-respected law firm like Slater and Gordon goes a long way towards my achievements, and I’m thankful for the support.
“Racing is what I love to do, and I can’t wait to get on the track in Rio and show the world what I’m made of.”
Slater and Gordon is also the Official Law Firm of the Australian Olympic Team (AOC). The partnership is the first of its kind between a law firm and the AOC, and will continue until the end of 2020.
