The Mother's Day Classic
The Mother’s Day Classic (MDC) is a fun run/walk that aims to raise money for breast cancer research.
The MDC has become an engrained part of Slater and Gordon’s community engagement program and we have proudly supported the national event for the past 7 years as a gold sponsor.
As part of our sponsorship commitment, the firm funds staff and family registrations for the event. With approximately 90 events held nationally; staff from all over Australia have the opportunity to participate in and support this great cause. We encourage all staff to get involved through registering to run or walk, fundraising and/or donating.
Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia, with one in nine women developing breast cancer in their lifetime. With over 1200 staff at our firm, there are many individual stories of how breast cancer has touched our lives in one way or another.
Slater and Gordon are a very proud sponsor and official legal partner of the Brisbane Broncos. This partnership aligns perfectly with our encouragement for greater community participation in sport. The Slater and Gordon Mini League Competition that we sponsor encourages children to pursue their sporting dreams. This experience gives 750 Queensland junior rugby league players aged 7 to 10 years the opportunity to run in the footsteps of their Broncos heroes. Held at each home game at Suncorp Stadium, children play a short match on the field in front of 50,000 Broncos fans.
Burleigh Swim Run
The Slater and Gordon Burleigh Swim Run Australia Day Challenge is a fun community fitness event held on the Gold Coast. This not-for-profit initiative has been organised by a group of local volunteers who wanted to create a positive, fun and healthy activity for families to participate in on Australia Day.
Children as young as 5 years to adults over 60 years participate in three events including an ocean swim and path running, with distances that can be achieved by all ages and abilities.
