Fairbridge Farm School
Slater and Gordon commenced a class action to obtain compensation for a number of former residents of the Fairbridge Farm School at Molong in Central Western New South Wales. The claim was brought against the Fairbridge Foundation, the State of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia.
A conditional resolution of that claim has been reached. In order to come into operation, the resolution needs to be approved by the Court (as in all class actions). If approved, a $24 million fund will be established to compensate the victims of child abuse at the Fairbridge Farm School in Molong.
Our class action was based on interviews with dozens of former Fairbridge residents, as well as archival research.
The Court has approved a notice about the resolution of this claim.
