Businesses hoping to make a claim for losses suffered as a result of COVID-19 restrictions should check their insurance policy and seek further advice, even if they’re being told by their insurer that they’re not eligible.

While many businesses have been told by their insurer their claims for losses as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic had been denied, a recent NSW Court ruling has found their claims may still be valid.

This means that some business owners with certain policies who lost business due to COVID-19 should be paid their business interruption insurance payout.

Business owners who believe they may be eligible, but are not sure, are urged to seek legal advice.
