S&G supports the Mothers Day Classic

About 540 employees from Slater and Gordon Australia-wide braved the early morning to raise money for breast cancer research.

About 540 employees from Slater and Gordon Australia-wide braved the early morning to raise money for breast cancer research.

The imminent deluge on Sunday morning did little to deter the team in Melbourne from rallying for a good cause. After coming runners-up for the past two years, Slater & Gordon’s Melbourne contingent claimed the crown as being the largest corporate team in its city in this year’s Mother’s Day Classic, with more than 250 hardy participants.

Not to be outdone, Slater & Gordon’s Sydney contingent also took the coveted award for largest corporate team in its city with over 100 participants, double the number of participants compared to last year.

The other locations where staff members and their families showed their support for the cause included Brisbane, Canberra, Parramatta, Wollongong and Perth. It was a tremendous effort all round.

The event took on special significance for the staff members at the Slater & Gordon’s Wollongong office after their former colleague, legal assistant Susan Sproule, 51, passed away on Australia Day this year after losing her battle with breast cancer. The 34 staff and family members who completed the course paid tribute to their deceased colleague by wearing a memorial pin.

It was also a day to remember for Slater & Gordon general manager Chris Prast who was honoured to present an award in Perth.

Slater & Gordon, a national gold sponsor of the event, congratulates the Mother’s Day Classic on another well organised and successful event.
