National law firm Slater & Gordon have today donated $5,000 to UnitingCare Burnside’s Macarthur Youth Services in Campbelltown to help pay for hampers, food and activities for their annual Christmas event.

National law firm Slater & Gordon have today donated $5,000 to UnitingCare Burnside’s Macarthur Youth Services in Campbelltown to help pay for hampers, food and activities for their annual Christmas event on 9th December which supports homeless youth and their families.

Presenting the donation, Slater & Gordon Social Worker Alexis Stonebridge said the donation was a big help for the local centre who provide assistance to young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

“We’re proud to have made this donation to UnitingCare Burnside, their staff and volunteers provide enormous support to vulnerable young people” Ms Stonebridge said.

“The funds were raised through Slater & Gordon’s Staff Giving Program, an opportunity for lawyers and support staff to contribute money from their pay to support worthy causes, matched dollar for dollar by the firm.”

UnitingCare Burnside’s Manager of Youth Services Susan Chapman, thanked Slater & Gordon staff and said that the funds came at a critical time for the centre.

“We’re so grateful for this generous donation,” Ms Chapman said.

“These funds will help us pay for essential food and activities for homeless and disadvantaged youth at our Christmas event.

“The holiday season can be really tough for our clients and we want to make sure they have all the support they need.

“We rely on donations from organisations to help us provide support and assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in our community,” she said.
