Our Union Services Team 
Slater & Gordon’s Union Services team brings together over 30 years of combined experience helping union members and their families.
Mick Sayers joined Slater & Gordon as a lawyer in early 1997 and is an Associate of the firm. He took over Slater & Gordon's Employment Law practice in 2004 and, more recently, took on responsibility for Union Services. Mick works closely with the Executive at a number of the unions represented by the firm to ensure that the best possible services are delivered to these unions and their members. As an employment lawyer he assists union members in a variety of employment law disputes including unfair dismissal, equal opportunity and breach of contract claims.
Carol Saunders joined Slater & Gordon in December 1995 and has specialised in workers compensation matters for the past 9 years. In 2005 Carol spent a year as a Worker’s Consultant / Advocate with WorkCover Assist representing injured workers at conciliation. Since returning to the firm as Union Liaison, Carol has concentrated on strengthening the firm's communication with unions and is committed to ensuring that the firm delivers a high standard of service to all members.
Monique Traverso is a Law Clerk who has run the firm’s free Will Service for union members for the past 3 years. Monique started with Slater & Gordon’s Industrial Law department in April 1997 and in 1999 was involved in establishing the Employment Law Practice group. In that time she has worked with many unions and assisted members with unfair dismissal applications, equal opportunity claims and employment contract disputes.
