Jeff Mills
Lawyer, Brisbane
Military Compensation
Jeff Mills is someone that is described by his clients and colleagues respectfully as a dogmatic lawyer who leaves nothing to chance. Jeff is all about keeping the Department of Defence honest and endeavouring to ensure that they adhere to the Model Litigant policy.
The thing that made Jeff Mills want to become a plaintiff lawyer was when some time ago, he realised that the law was not applied fairly and he wanted to go back and do what he could to help people and specifically the service and ex-service men and women. He believes strongly that where legislation is enacted for beneficial purposes there is a strong need to ensure that the Department and its representatives adhere to that purpose.
Having worked on both sides Jeff came to Slater & Gordon for a chance to work in the largest Military Compensation practice and apply what he learnt on the “dark side” to help rather than hinder the claims process.
"The thing I love most about this job is simple, I have the chance to help people who are not in a position to help themselves" - Jeff Mills
