James Higgins
Principal Lawyer, Melbourne
Asbestos and Class Actions
For James Higgins, practising at Slater & Gordon combines the appeal of "doing things that no other law firm has the courage to do” with the satisfaction of fighting for a fair go for asbestos victims and people who are doing it tough.
Getting the best possible result for his clients is what matters most to James and it’s a task he undertakes with an attitude which is positive and enthusiastic. His ability to communicate the legal process in a simple and digestible way is among his key strengths.
James joined Slater & Gordon in 2002 after working as the senior legal adviser to the Premier of Victoria. He has extensive experience in litigation but practices predominantly in the area of asbestos claims as well as workplace injury claims, class actions and commercial litigation.
He has been involved in numerous cases in the Supreme Court of Queensland, Dust Diseases Tribunal of New South Wales, Supreme Court of Victoria and Federal Court of Australia.
