National Practice Group Leader, Superannuation & TPD claims
Practice Group Leader, Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, Ringwood
Securing results that will have a direct and positive impact on the circumstances of people injured on the road is what attracted Dina Tutungi to legal practice in TAC claims.
Thorough, persistent and highly organised, Dina is keenly aware of the consequences of her actions on her clients’ quality of life and openly admits that she leaves “no stone unturned” in her pursuit of maximum entitlements and compensation on their behalf.
Dina takes the time and care to explain difficult legal concepts in a concise and non-technical manner and she also understands, the value to her clients of being listened to.
Since joining Slater & Gordon Lawyers in January 2001, Dina has worked on a number of landmark litigation projects. Dina conducted litigation against multiple airlines on behalf of more than 500 people who suffered deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and other complications after long haul air travel.
The litigation – the first of its type internationally – was ultimately heard by the High Court of Australia.
In 2003, Dina coordinated the successful resolution of more than 200 claims on behalf of people who contracted Hepatitis A from contaminated oysters from Lake Wallis in northern NSW, after verdicts of the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
In 2005, Dina began Australia’s first wrongful death in detention claim against the Commonwealth of Australia and the operator of an immigration detention facility on behalf of a grieving Tongan family.
In 2006, Dina established the Slater & Gordon office in Ringwood where she conducts a successful motor vehicle accident practice. Dina vigorously pursues benefits, compensation and medical treatment for her injured clients from the TAC.
Dina is committed to ensuring that people injured on the road receive proper and just compensation for their injuries from the TAC.
