Ben Phi practices in large-scale commercial litigation, specialising in shareholder class actions and litigation relating to financial products and advice.
Ben acts for retail and institutional investors in relation to their claims against Downer EDI Limited and ION Limited (subject to Deed of Company Arrangement) that arise from alleged misleading conduct and breaches of continuous disclosure obligations.
Ben also acts for retail investors that suffered losses as a result of Westpoint and Fincorp, and he has recently been retained to act on behalf of people who were advised to invest in funds managed by Basis Capital.
Ben has previously acted for the ACCC in their successful cartel prosecution of the Visy group of companies.
Ben joined Slater & Gordon after graduating from the Australian National University with Honours in Law.
