CBA's Storm Resolution Scheme
30 September 2009 Deadline for joining the CBA’s Storm Resolution Scheme:
You can still join the CBA’s Storm Resolution Scheme, but time is running out fast: the deadline to join is 30 September 2009. After this date you will not be able to register for the scheme.
After this time, if you don’t join the Scheme, the CBA’s Loan Repayment Suspension currently in place for ex-Storm customers will end for you, and you will need to start making repayments on any existing loans you obtained through the CBA.
If you join the Scheme, the CBA’s the Repayment Suspension is extended indefinitely for you, until you accept an offer or exit the Scheme. Therefore if you join the Scheme you will not have to make any repayments until you and the Bank have resolved your claim. The offer you receive from the CBA may involve the reduction in your current liability under your loan(s).
If you wish to join the Scheme, we strongly encourage you to complete and return the documents contained in your Slater & Gordon CBA Resolution Scheme Information Pack by the middle of September.

Colonial margin loan clients: why you should join the CBA’s Storm Resolution Scheme:
The CBA’s Scheme has been established for the purpose of providing offers both to ex-Storm customers with home or investment loans through the CBA and ex-Storm customers with margin loans through Colonial. The CBA has indicated that they will entertain claims through the Resolution process that only deal with margin loan issues.
Slater & Gordon is undertaking a considerable amount of work on margin loan and margin call issues as well as lending issues. We have a dedicated legal team who hold an in-depth knowledge of this area of law. We have also retained barristers to advise in relation to complex legal issues which arise in relation to inappropriate lending and the duties of a margin lender.
