Retaining Slater & Gordon to represent your interests as a Registered Group Member

In our experience, group members in class actions ordinarily require legal advice and assistance connected with their participation in the class action. If you are a Registered Group Member who wishes to retain Slater & Gordon to represent you, please request an information pack by phoning us on 1800 555 777 or sending an email to centro@slatergordon.com.au

Expressing your interest in being added as a Registered Group Member

We confirm that registrations for the Centro class action have now closed. To register for the Centro class action eligible shareholders were required to return a completed Option B Group Member Registration Form to Slater & Gordon by 4:00pm on 27 February 2009. The Federal Court extended this deadline to 5:30pm on 3 March 2009, for the principal purpose of including forms posted before the deadline, but not received by Slater & Gordon until after the deadline. For more information please see the Federal Court Notice.

It is possible that, in future, an application will be made to include additional Registered Group Members. If you wish to express your interest in being added as a Registered Group Member please contact our New Client Services department on 1800 555 777 or send an email to centro@slatergordon.com.au.

General update

The mediation held on 16 July 2009 was adjourned until 5 November 2009. The 5 November 2009 mediation was cancelled on the basis of Centro’s failure to provide documents it had previously agreed to provide to the applicants.

We continue to regard the claims against Centro as strong and we are continuing the prosecution of the applicants’ claims against these entities. We are also instructed to investigate potential causes of action against Centro’s auditor, PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The matter is listed for directions on 11 December 2009.

For more information please see the Federal Court Notice.
