Angela Wong first joined Slater & Gordon when she was selected to participate in Sydney’s first summer clerkship programme in 2008. Angela now assists in advising on a wide range of commercial related issues, including breach of contract, Trade Practices, corporations law, and intellectual property, for both corporate clients and individuals.

Angela has assisted in a number of complex litigation matters, including the high-profile defamation case by Tony Papaconstuntinos against Peter Holmes a Court. She acted as investor correspondence manager for the Oz Minerals class action. Angela has a particular interest in class action proceedings, intellectual property, and trade practices, especially relating to consumer protection.

Cultural heritage

Angela Wong was born in Sydney to parents who immigrated from Hong Kong in 1986. Angela spent her childhood in Sydney’s northern suburbs of Turramurra and Killara in a bilingual family fluent in both Cantonese and English. She continued to study languages in high school, including Latin and French (attaining proficiency in French).

Angela embarked on her law degree while working part-time in boutique law firms providing conveyancing, business advisory and investment services to clients mainly from the Chinese community.

She regularly travels to Hong Kong and China to visit family and friends.
